Access to cultural heritage must be constantly expanded. Digitazation is an important instrument for open access to culture and knowledge, Bulgaria’s Minister of Culture Boil Banov said during the video conference themed “Digitalization and Innovations in the Cultural Heritage Field-Challenges and Opportunities”.

Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel, the Chairperson of the National Assembly Committee on Culture and Media Vezhdi Rashidov, scientists and experts participated at the forum. “If we don’t have a digital idea of those samples of human creativity that are destroyed during military conflicts or extreme situations, the future generations will not know these priceless artifacts”, Vezhdi Rashidov pointed out. Global Libraries, Programme BG-08, as well as European projects for digitazation of museum exhibitions, are among the positive examples, the Chairman of the National Assembly Committee on Culture and Media said further.
