At the end of May Bulgaria reported positive budget balance

The state budget balance as of May 31, 2020 is positive, totaling over 671 million euros, the Ministry of Finance has reported. The positive balance is formed as revenues are 422 million euros more than expenditures. Separately, 249 million euros were received from European funds.

As of May 2020, this country has received revenues of over 9 billion euros, which is 39.7 percent of the planned annual revenues. Tax and non-tax revenues decreased compared to May 2019 by EUR 741 million or 8.2% less. Revenues from EU funds and programs for the same period rose by EUR 187 million or 37%. Fiscal reserve at the end of May 2020 reached 5.2 billion euros.
