A hydrogen station is to be installed in Sofia which will produce the fuel on the spot and charge hydrogen-powered cars. The director of the Bulgarian Hydrogen Society and the Institute for Hydrogen Technologies Prof. Tsveti Tsvetkov stated that the station was developed by the Canadian company Hydrogenics.

“We have talked to Sofia municipality and the station will be installed by the end of the year,” Prof. Tsvetkov said. He added that after Sofia, a hydrogen station will be installed in Mizia which will be charged by Kozloduy NPP. After the renovation of its cooling system, the nuclear power plant is the biggest producer of pure hydrogen in the country, and is expected to become one of the biggest exporters of hydrogen, Prof. Tsvetkov says.
