Anti-government protests in Bulgaria continue for 20th consecutive day

Photo: BGNES

For the 20th consecutive night in Sofia, a protest began under the slogan "Let's defend democracy." Citizens are demanding the resignation of the prime minister and the prosecutor general.
The youth organization of Da, Bulgaria Movement has organized a performance called "Mass Investigation Experiment" in front of the state villa "Sequoia", which became famous for the compromising photos against Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. Protesters are waving bundles of banknotes depicting the prime minister and are calling on prosecutors to speed up investigations into whether the photos and audio recordings from the villa were genuine.
Due to the measures against Covid-19, Borissov himself banned the youth organization of the ruling GERB party from organizing a counter-protest.
