The parliamentary group of the Bulgarian Socialist Party have filed a request for an extraordinary Monday sitting of the National Assembly, which has been on summer vacation since August 1st. The Socialists want to hear Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Interior Minister Hristo Terziiski over pressure on journalists during GERB's national conference.

BSP also insists on an urgent budget update related to socio-economic measures to overcome the effects of the coronavirus crisis and calls for providing funds for machine voting.

Rumen Gechev of the BSP criticized the 30% rise of salaries of state administration employees due to the pandemic. The BSP described this as a desperate move by Borissov, BNR reporter Daniel Inkov informed.
