On the 54th day of the protests in Bulgaria, demanding the resignation of the government and Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, the protesters gathered in front of the Representation of the European Commission for their planned action under the slogan "Mass opening of eyes". With this campaign, the dissatisfied citizens want the European political leaders to take a clear position, because according to them, the government of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is causing an institutional crisis in the country, BNR reports.
After the MRF party came up with a position against the draft amendments to the Constitution of GERB and the convening of a Grand National Assembly, the organizers of the protests from the so-called "Poison Trio" insisted on the quick resignation of Boyko Borissov's cabinet, on forming a caretaker government and holding of fair elections. According to the dissatisfied citizens, there is a façade democracy in Bulgaria, and the huge funds poured into large-scale European infrastructure projects go into private pockets.
Three key intersections in the capital Sofia remain blocked - at Eagles' Bridge, the Presidency and Sofia University.
