On October 1, when the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) is to vote a resolution of the European Commission to continue monitoring the judicial reform and the fight against corruption in Bulgaria within the frameworks of the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism, the 85th consecutive antigovernment rally is expected to be held in Sofia.

On Wednesday evening, the antigovernment rally was held under the motto “Weare not afraid”, BNR reports.

The protest focused on the latest rule of law report of the European Commission and the fact that the monitoring under the CVM remains. One of the leaders of the protests lawyer Nikolay Hadzhigenov pointed out that there was something phenomenal in the document that has not happened since the creation of the EU- it mentions the protests in Bulgaria. “Thus, each one of you, being part of the protest, is present in this report. We will finally have fair elections and Bulgarians abroad will have the opportunity to vote”, Nikolay Hadzhigenov noted.
