A study by the World Health Organization - WHO shows that 37% of Bulgarians do not want to get the future vaccine against Covid-19, Assoc. Prof. Mihail Okoliyski, WHO representative for Bulgaria, has told bTV. Compared to other Europeans, Bulgarians tend to believe more in conspiracy theories about vaccines. Level of vaccination is traditionally low in this country. At the same time very little has been invested in public health and prevention in Bulgaria over the years, Okoliyski says.
The latest poll from October shows growing public skepticism. 62% said they were helpless in the face of coronavirus and 60% said they were afraid of the disease. This leads to increased aggression, alcohol and antidepressant use, Okoliyski says.
