Belitsa – the place where bears are happy

Photo: Facebook /Dancing Bears Park

Belitsa - a town situated among the forests of Rila Mountain, is very attractive to lovers of nature and hiking. Some of the most beautiful and well-preserved white fir forests in the Balkans can be seen around. The mountain trails cross picturesque beech and spruce forests, where the chorus of birds is heard.

But one of the most famous locations near Belitsa is the Dancing Bears Park that provides home to rescued brown bears. It turns out that in the park bears live 5 to 10 years longer than those in the wild.

And even the coronavirus is not able to stop tourists from seeing them! The line of tourists that is seen along the wire fence has not subsided in the autumn, the management of the park say. In early December the park closes for hibernation of the bears. Until then, everyone can visit it to see the animals.

You will learn more about the "bear paradise" from the article "Belitsa - town of dancing bears and fascinating scenery" from the collection of Radio Bulgaria
