42% of PCR tests for past 24 hours are positive

The number of new cases of coronavirus infection in Bulgaria established in the past 24 hours is 4828. This equals 41.6% of the 11,611 PCR tests. Most of the newly infected are in Sofia - 1301, followed by Plovdiv - 525, and Varna - 490 cases, according to the Unified Information Portal.

5463 of those infected with the virus are treated in hospitals, 303 are placed in intensive care wards. 1219 people recovered from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours and 131 people died.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Bulgaria, 4193 medical workers have been infected by Covid-19, as 182 of the cases are from the past day.
