Tourism Expo seeks ways to help tourist industry survive

Tourism Expo is taking place in Varna on the Black Sea. The aim of the exposition is to find new models for coping with the crisis in the tourism industry caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Tour operators and hoteliers are discussing options for lower price packages and improving the quality of the tourist service. Overnight stays in Varna for the traditionally excellent month of August are down by almost 45%.

The expectations for next year are more optimistic. Flights are scheduled from the UK, Poland and the Czech Republic which are traditional tourist markets for Bulgaria, BNT reports.
