Bulgarian patients must have free-of-charge access to PCR tests. Bulgarians have paid roughly between EUR 41 million and EUR 51 million for PCR tests until now, DPS MP Nigyar Dzhafer, who also serves as Deputy Speaker of Bulgaria’s National Assembly and a member of the National Assembly Healthcare Committee, said in an interview for BNR.

In her view, most Bulgarians have a feeling of a self-managed Covid-19 crisis.  Nigyar Dzhafer noted that the measures adopted against Covid-19 must be based on a strategic vision for responding to such crises.

“We have no answer to the question why Bulgarians do not undergo mass testing. Testing is not merely a snapshot of the situation, as claimed by the Chief State Health Inspector. It is also a crisis management measure”, MP Nigyar Dzhafer said further.
