Two projects of the National Museum of Military History received recognition from the Museum Exhibition Fair and European foundation Art Explora, the museum announced.
One of the winning projects is the space "Scars of War: Sofia's Lost Architectural Heritage", which tells of the devastating bombings on the city in World War II. The thematic site "Scars of War" and the special mobile application with the same name have been created for the project. Using them allows everyone to walk the streets of Sofia, to see the lost looks of the city and to get acquainted with the history of the destroyed buildings before, during and after the bombings. The project received the first prize of the Ministry of Culture for an attractive and innovative project and a prize from the Heritage Awards of the Bulgarian Museums Association in the “Events” category.
The National Museum of Military History has also received European recognition for its project Art M Back. It is part of the official selection of the best nominations for the European award of the Art Explora Foundation, along with world-famous museums such as the British Museum, Mumok, the National Gallery in London, Versailles, the Van Gogh Museum and the Munch Museum.
Out of a total of 350 projects submitted by cultural institutions from all over Europe, only 23 have been selected to continue in the competition for the first three places, including that of the Bulgarian museum.
