Mediana sociological agency registers pessimistic expectations for 2021

The most pessimistic Christmas in decades is approaching - 54% of the respondents say they await 2021 with fear, 5% expect an improvement and 31% say things will continue as they are now, the latest survey by Mediana social studies agency shows.

The corona-crisis has had a dire economic effect. More than 40% state their incomes have dropped dramatically, 21% - that they are already on the brink of poverty, 12% have lost their jobs, and 19% have had their paychecks cut. In December 2020 the government gets the poorest marks  – 3.22 out of 6.

Vaccination against Covid-19 is going to encounter serious problems. Only 20% state they are firmly in favour of vaccination, 37% are hesitant, and 43% are against, BNR’s Horizont channel reports.
