Drug ring smashed in Plovdiv trafficking narcotics from Western Europe to Turkey

A drug ring for trafficking narcotics from Western Europe to Plovdiv, with final destination Turkey, was smashed during a specialized operation by the police and the prosecutor’s office in Plovdiv, the Plovdiv prosecutors’ office has announced.  

Three Bulgarian and one Turkish citizens have so far been detained. 15 kilograms of ecstasy worth 3.5 million Leva /1.8 million euro/ and 4 kilograms of marijuana were found just before they were loaded onto a lorry for transportation to Turkey. Vacuum sealers used for packing the drugs, to be transported in the lorry’s spare tire, were found during  searches of addresses in and around Plovdiv.
