The citizens of Bulgaria’s Gabrovo, also known as the city of humour and satire, were the first in the world to say goodbye to 2020. It has become a tradition in the city for fireworks to explode on December 30th rather than on December 31st.
Citizens of Gabrovo, known for their tightness with money, once again chose to organize the city celebration a day earlier, when performers' fees are lower. Thus, hundreds of residents celebrated on the evening of December 30 and congratulated themselves with the New Year. But after the celebration, the Association of Catering Establishments in Bulgaria signaled over drastic violations of anti-epidemic measures. The association posted a video of a concert in the city center, which according to them was organised by the municipality and gathered an audience of over 800 people, the BNR correspondent for the region reported.
