Prime Minister denies speculations over purchase of specific Covid-19 vaccine

Claims that Bulgaria relies on the vaccines of a specific company are pure speculations, Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov said. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov also rejected claims that Bulgaria had deliberately ordered larger quantities of a particular vaccine on the market.

According to PM Borissov, a reason behind such claims was the pre-election situation. He said parliament had agreed with the European Commission to hold tenders with producers and negotiate quantities.

Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev reaffirmed that Bulgarians would have equal access to the three types of vaccines delivered to Bulgaria.
