Israel's experience in water conservation and promoting its efficient use has been discussed at a bilateral online meeting, the Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has reported. According to Israeli experts, up to 60% of water in urban areas is wasted. But with the implementation of information campaigns, new technologies, water desalination and secondary use they have managed to reduce consumption by 17% for 15 years.

Consumption regulation is done mainly through price. With a monthly consumption of up to 3.5 cubic meters per person, the price is lower, but when the limit is exceeded, the price rises dramatically and consumption drops, BTA reported.
