Parliament votes to end sittings on March 8

The National Assembly will suspend its regular plenary sessions from March 8 to 24th, according to a draft decision of the ruling GERB party, BTA has reported. The vote on the decision is expected to take place on February 24.

This is a common practice so that the parliament does not become a place for election campaigns before April 4. During that time parliamentary control will be conducted in written form. If necessary, the President of the National Assembly may convene extraordinary meetings.

The MPs will meet for the last time on March 25, and the only topic on their agenda will be closing the 44th National Assembly.
