Prospecting students opt for universities in Netherlands, Austria and Germany

Before Brexit, universities in England were very attractive to young Bulgarians and people from other European countries. However, the access to these universities became more difficult after Brexit. Fewer young people can now meet the financial requirements, Elizabeth Toncheva, managing director at an agency for education and training abroad told BNR’s Radio Sofia.

Universities in Germany and Austria are most desirable for Bulgarian prospecting students. These educational establishments also offer education in English. Because of the high interest, the Netherlands has introduced quotas for students from other countries. Medicine, architecture, management and computer science are the most-preferred majors, added Eli Toncheva.
