Bulgaria reports 4,374 new cases of Covid-19 out of 19,214 tests performed

4,374 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 19,214 tests performed, indicate data of the Single Coronavirus Information Portal. 22.7% of the tests have returned positive result. The highest number of new infections was reported in Sofia-1,226, followed by Burgas-316 and Plovdiv-299. The number of active cases of Covid-19 has exceeded 47,000.

In an interview for Horizont channel of the Bulgarian National Radio the Spokesperson of the Center for Emergency Medical Services in Sofia Katya Sungarska called on the patients to contact their general practitioners before calling the emergency medical aid center, because the medical teams have been overloaded with work.

There are 7,600 patients in hospital, as 612 of them are in intensive care units. 107 people have died and 1,757 people have recovered in the past 24 hours.

4,287 vaccines have been administered in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of inoculations in this country to 345,994. 61,728 people have received their second vaccine dose.
