On April 7, 1991, when an engineer from Ruse won BGN 1 million. The man was working 10-hour shifts at his workplace like many other workers at the time. According to today's calculations, the amount he received equals 55,000 dollars. Nowadays, the sums are quite different and are usually over a million dollars.
