We mark World Rock 'n' Roll Day

Today we mark the World Rock 'n' Roll Day, although the historic event that marked the beginning of this day took place on April 12, 1954, when Bill Haley recorded his song "Rock around the clock", BNR reports.

One of the first rock bands in Bulgaria is the Srebarnite Grivni, founded in 1964. It was also the first to be broadcast on the Bulgarian National Television. The repertoire of the band included covers of the Shadows and rock arrangements of Bulgarian folklore, website bg-rock-archives.com reports.

In 1966 another Bulgarian band was born - Shturcite, which gained cult status among fans of Bulgarian rock. In the mid-80s, some of the first metal bands emerged in Bulgaria, such as Atlantic, BTR, Era, Ahat and Episode.

We offer you Shadoogie from 1965, performed by Srebarnite Grivni.
