According to the investigation, the explosion in Vrbetice in 2014 should not have taken place on Czech territory, but on Bulgarian territory, the Deutsche Welle reported, alongside information from the Czech authorities that Russian spies Alexander Mishkin and Anatoly Chepiga were involved in the sabotage.

The explosion of ammunition in a warehouse in Vrbetice in October 2014 should not have happened on Czech territory, Czech Interior Minister Jan Hamáček said on Czech state television. The ammunition was planned to explode later, after being transported to Bulgaria.
The data show that the Bulgarian arms dealer Emilian Gebrev was involved in the purchase.
