Foreign Ministry extends gratitude to Bulgarians around the world for their help in organizing the elections

Bulgaria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian communities abroad, "with whose invaluable partnership and cooperation it became possible to organize the voting abroad."
Over 5,000 people - volunteers from the Bulgarian communities and seconded employees, helped and participated in the process of preparing and conducting the election day in 782 polling stations in 68 countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that for the elections of July 11, 2021 abroad, 69% more polling stations were opened than in April 4 elections. There were 672 polling stations outside the diplomatic and consular missions, and 110 polling stations on the territory of Bulgarian diplomatic missions.
The largest number of polling stations was in the United Kingdom - 135, followed by Germany - 115, Turkey - 112, Spain - 67, USA - 58, Greece - 32 sections.
For the first time in this election, Bulgarian nationals had the opportunity to vote in the Dominican Republic and on some Greek islands - Thassos, Limnos, Lefkada, as well as in the Greek resort village of Nea Peramos. 
For the first time, polling stations outside Bulgarian diplomatic and consular missions were opened in Albania and Japan.
