Daniel Asenov qualified for the eighth-finals of the boxing tournament at the Tokyo Olympics. The 24-year old boxer from Bulgaria achieved a clear victory in his first match in the 52 kg. category against Cosmin Girleanu, Romania by 5-0 votes.
“I expected the match to be difficult, I expected there to be pressure. But I performed well, with a more or less clear advantage. It is entirely possible that I become champion, that is what I am here for,” Daniel Asenov said after the match.
To qualify for the quarter-finals Asenov will fight against Gabriel Escobar, Spain.
