New rules for citizens of red-zone countries entering Bulgaria

On Thursday, July 29, Bulgarian citizens, persons with permanent or long-term residence in Bulgaria and their families, citizens of the EU and the European Economic Area, seasonal workers and foreigners to obtain a decree for the acquisition of Bulgarian citizenship, arriving from countries included in the red Covid-19 zone, will enter Bulgaria after presenting a digital EU Covid certificate for vaccination and a negative PCR test performed up to 72 hours before entering Bulgaria. This has been ordered by Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov.

In case of no vaccination document, the persons must present a negative PCR test and are subject to a 10-day quarantine.

The order allows children up to the age of 12 to enter the country without Covid-19 documents.
