Democratic Bulgaria and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) exchanged sharp remarks and accused each other of corruption and dependencies at the beginning of today's parliamentary sitting which is being broadcast live by the Bulgarian National Radio.

Democratic Bulgaria leader Hristo Ivanov stated that he sees a serious problem in the fact that the MRF has been included in the consultations on the formation of a new governmment, and that they will not play the role of fig leaf for an MRF-supported government. Hristo Ivanov stated that they are willing to accept all options, including to be in opposition.

MRF leader Mustafa Karadayi  accused Democratic Bulgaria of trading in power, adding that they were being held hostage by an "organized oligarchic-media political group" belonging to Ivo Prokopiev. "A divided society cannot prosper," the MRF leader warned.
