Number of newly registered Covid-19 infections in Bulgaria rises for third straight day

216 is the number of newly registered coronavirus cases out of 15,749 tests performed in the country in the past 24 hours, 16 more compared to 28 July when the number of new infection was 200. This is a positivity rate of 1.37%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal information shows.

The highest number of new infections is in Sofia - 56, Plovdiv - 25, Burgas - 23 and Varna - 17. There is just one region of the country where no new Covid-19 cases have reported – Kurdzhali. The number of active Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria has gone up and now stands at 7,702.

754 patients are being treated in hospital, 79 of them in intensive care. Two coronavirus patients have died in the past day, 53 have recovered.

12,975 doses of vaccine have been administered over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of vaccinations in the country over the 2 million mark – 2,001,777. The number of people in Bulgaria who are now fully vaccinated is 984,573.
