Bulgaria's Ministry of Health proposes reduction in VAT on medicines

The Bulgarian Ministry of Health has come out with a proposal to reduce the VAT on medicines paid for by the Health Insurance Fund or the Ministry from 20 to 5%. These are medicines for home and hospital treatment and the reduction of their tax will allow a significant increase in the number and type of medicines bought with public funds.
