“The wheat yield in 2021 is 52% higher than the previous year when grain production faced a series of problems. Wheat production reached 7.16 million tons, which makes it the best year for the sector in Bulgaria since 2017,” Minister of Agriculture Hristo Bozukov said at a meeting of the Consultative Grain Council.
The samples taken show that the yield is of a quality which meets the requirements of the milling industry for the production of high-quality flour. An increase has also been registered in barley production – by 27.2%, and in rapeseed production, which is 36% up on 2020.
