GERB to support the rector of the Sofia University at the forthcoming Presidential elections

GERB party is to support the rector of the Sofia University Professor Anastas Gerdzhikov at the forthcoming Presidential elections on November 14. Anastas Gerdzhikov will be nominated by an initiative committee, sources from GERB party told the BNR.

Professor Gerdzhikov was appointed a rector of the Sofia University for the second time in November 2019. He was the only nominee for this position. Anastas Gerdzhikov who is Professor in Ancient and Medieval Literature has been chairing the Council of Rectors since 2020. Between 2001 and 2003, Anastas Gerdzhikov served as a Deputy Minister for Education and Science in the government of Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, reminds offnews.bg.
