Varna enters dark-red Covid zone

Varna and the region are now in the dark-red Covid-19 zone, Dr. Dochka Mihaylova, director of the Regional Health Inspectorate has announced.

If the tendency towards an increase in the number of infections keeps, next week the regional crisis headquarters is expected to make a decision on the imposition of regional measures. Today, there are 504 infections per 100,000 residents, BNR-Varna reports. 1,261 is the number of new infections for the week.

There are 144 vacant hospital beds for coronavirus patients without complications but only one ICU bed, Dr. Mihaylova said. Providing more beds for Covid patients is being considered.
