Interest in voting abroad has dropped considerably, with close to 60,000 applications submitted, fewer than for the previous two elections this year, said blogger Boyan Yurukov for the BNR. The drop in numbers is due to the fact that Bulgarians abroad are sure that their polling stations have been provided for and there is no need for more applications.

The Foreign Ministry and the Central Election Commission are not the ones conducting a campaign for the elections abroad. This is done by volunteers, they also cover the costs of the section election commissions abroad. All this disheartens people outside Bulgaria,” Boyan Yurukov says.
