Bulgaria reports 116 Covid-19 deaths in past day

1,652 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 24,891 tests performed, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data indicate. Nearly 7% of the tests have returned positive result. 82% of the new Covid-19 cases are among the unvaccinated.

The highest number of new infections was reported in Sofia-287, followed by Plovdiv-167 and Varna-155.

5,551 patients are being treated in hospital, as 631 of them are in intensive care units. 474 people have been admitted to hospital in the past day. 85% of the new hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated.

 116 people have died and 2,690 have been reported cured in the past day. 90% of the Covid-related deaths are among the unvaccinated. There are 98,509 active cases of Covid-19. 

17,216 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday. 1,821,897 people have completed their vaccination cycle. 147,305 have had a booster shot.
