Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office has terminated the investigation into PM Kiril Petkov’s citizenship. Kiril Petkov was also subject to checks regarding appointments at the Bulgarian Development Bank during his term of office as caretaker Minister of Economy. The Prosecutor’s Office also launched a probe against Petkov into an alleged participation in a company.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, there is no violation of the Credit Institutions Act. That is why, it has terminated the Bulgarian Development Bank case. The file regarding Kiril Petkov's citizenship was sent to the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office, because Petkov sumbitted his declaration in the capacity of a citizen, not a member of the Council of Ministers, the prosecution explained.
