Seven people were wiretapped illegally in 2021

Seven people were wiretapped illegally in 2021, a probe by the National Bureau for Control over Special Intelligence Means has ascertained. A decision is yet to be made of notifying the persons concerned.

A total of 291 individuals have been screened in connection with reports of illegal wiretapping, 246 of these probes have been completed. 141 of the cases are connected with the protests in the summer of 2020 against Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev and former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
