Bessarabian Bulgarians request green corridor for our compatriots in Ukraine

Bessarabian Bulgarians, students in Bulgarian universities, are requesting a green corridor so that ethnic Bulgarians can leave Ukraine. At a press conference they asked Bulgaria for help and thanked everyone who is helping them. According to Anastasia Nikolova many ethnic Bulgarians cannot leave Ukraine because of the continual bombardment.

“We know this is a very difficult request but we shall look for any option to help them,” she said. The only way to leave the country at the moment is by bus or by train from given points in Western Ukraine," Karina Topovic said. In her words, there is not enough petrol and the roads have been destroyed which makes travel by car impossible.
