"We strongly condemn Russia's military action against Ukraine and the brutal Russian bombing of civilian sites, including residential buildings, schools, kindergartens and hospitals," Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska said at a meeting of the EU's Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. She stressed the importance of comprehensive sanctions against the Moscow regime, which reduce the aggressor's resources, as well as the need to actively fight Russian disinformation and continue diplomatic contacts with third countries, focusing on the Western Balkans.

"Bulgaria appreciates the accession of candidate countries from the Western Balkans to EU sanctions against the Russian Federation. This is an indicator of the European values that these countries share," said Teodora Genchovska at a working breakfast of the EU foreign ministers with the participation of North Macedonia's Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani.
