Two Bulgarian scientific institutions - the Institute "Big Data for the benefit of the intelligent society" (GATE) at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ”and the Institute of Defense “Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov” have been selected as NATO test centres for the development of new technologies in the field of big data and artificial intelligence.

This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference during the NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels, according to the press centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Test centres are a key element of the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA), set up by the Allies in 2021 to strengthen the Alliance's overall technological capacity to meet new challenges.
