President Biden labels Russian atrocities in Ukraine “genocide”

From Lisbon, where he is paying an official visit, President Rumen Radev commented the dangers of a possible NATO involvement in the war in Ukraine.

“That is an extremely sensitive issue! We now have clear statements by the Alliance’s Secretary General, by President Biden, as well as by other leaders that a NATO involvement in Ukraine carries an enormous risk of a third world war. The big concern is that this war may escalate into a nuclear conflict,” President Radev said.

US President Joe Biden described the Russian atrocities in Ukraine as “genocide”. At an event in Iowa, President Biden said: “Your family budget, your ability to fill up your tank, none of it should hinge on whether a dictator declares war and commits genocide a half a world away.”

On 13 April, the White House is to announce another USD 750 million in military assistance for Ukraine for its fight against Russian forces, Reuters reports. A meeting has been called at the Pentagon of the biggest arms companies. The manufacturers are to discuss deliveries to Ukraine.

The continuing rainy, bad weather is slowing down the expected Russian offensive in Donbas, the Ukrainian army says
