Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee will not consider proposals to provide military aid to Ukraine. Speaking to Bulgarian National Radio, committee chairwoman Ventsislava Lyubenova of We Continue the Change party said the meeting was cancelled because of "legal inconsistency and the need to "expand" the draft decisions submitted by GERB and Democratic Bulgaria."
Earlier in National Assembly, leftist MP Kristian Vigenin issued a statement on behalf of the left, saying that the Bulgarian Socialist Party would reconsider its participation in the ruling coalition if the government decided to grant military aid to Ukraine.
"This is a red line and we are grateful to our partners that at least so far they have taken this reasonable and responsible position into account," Vigenin stressed and urged political formations not to engage in speculation on the issue and to remove it from the public debate.
