Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Moscow did not agree to an Easter truce. The Ukrainian military say they have been successfully repelling Russian attacks along the entire front line.

United States Secretary of Defense Gen. Lloyd Austin will hold a meeting with partners from around the world on April 26 at the Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. Needs, means and measures to ensure Ukraine's security and sovereignty will be discussed, Reuters reported.

The Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Baltic states will seek EU financial assistance for the care of Ukrainian refugees, Czech Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Bartoš said. The countries have reached a consensus on 14 measures, which they will present together to launch a dialogue with the European Commission in order to change the current rules for refugees.

Nearly 5 million Ukrainians have fled their homeland since the start of the war. Czechia has welcomed over 300,000 of them. More than 202,000 Ukrainians have entered Bulgaria and 93,000 have settled in the country.
