Automatic Pet Feeders placed at four locations in Sofia

Automatic pet feeders were installed at four locations in Sofia. The feeders distribute food and water to homeless animals. The so-called Dog-o-mats and Bird-o-mats are triggered after a plastic bottle is inserted into a special hole.
"There are two holes in the Dog-o-mat - in one we pour the water from the bottle into the dog's bowl. Then we throw the empty bottle into the other hole and a portion of dog food falls out as a reward," explained the chairman of the Sofia City Council, Georgi Georgiev.
The machines, placed in the South Park, the Knyazheska Garden and the Park of the National Palace of Culture, are energy independent and have a photovoltaic panel on the roof. One bird machine has been installed in the Boris' Garden.
