Exhibition “The Days of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Sofia (27 October 1913 – 2 February 1915)” opens today in Bulgaria's capital city in the "Archives" exhibition hall. The exhibition presents archival records, detailing the life of the significant figure of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk - the founding father of the Republic of Turkey

The show was the result of the joint work of the state archives of Turkey and Bulgaria. in 1913, Mustafa Kemal arrived in Bulgaria as a military attaché in 1913, seven years before he headed the parliament of the new Republic of Turkey in 1920. After his country became involved in the First World War, he was ordered to return to Istanbul.
The exhibition includes documents on Ataturk's appointment as military attache and commander of one of the divisions in the Turkish army, his military biography, reports to the Ottoman General Staff.
