Vice President Iliana Iotova discussed the integration of the Bulgarian community in the UK with London municipality representatives and NGOs in Sofia.

The conversation was also attended by the Bulgarian Nishan Dzhingozyan, and Trevor Blackman, who runs a platform of 18 schools in North London where many Bulgarian children study. London is the borough with the largest Bulgarian community in the UK, many of whom are of Roma origin.

The number of those who have failed to establish their new migration status for legal residence since Britain left the EU is overwhelming. The lack of such status adds to existing problems of access to the health system, welfare benefits, risk of homelessness, lack of employment.
