Prime Minister Kiril Petkov vowed to file the resignation of his government on Monday morning, after the cabinet lost a no-confidence vote on June 23rd.

President Rumen Radev will be able to start consultations with parliamentary groups in order to hand over a mandate for forming a new government. President Radev is obliged to give the first mandate to the largest political force in parliament - "We Continue the Change" party led by Kiril Petkov.

The second political force, GERB-SDS, said that if they received a mandate to form a government, they would return it immediately. In the event of a third failure to form a government, the president must dissolve the parliament and schedule snap elections.
