Policy stimulating innovations should be the leading one for every government, as innovations are the key to managing crises, President Rumen Radev said at the opening of the round table "Innovations - Opportunities for Bulgaria".

"Some would ask whether in a situation of a deep crisis, we should talk about innovation policy. I am sure that this is the right time. When we are on the threshold of reformatting the political space, all politicians who will take responsibility should know that innovation policy should be a priority," President Radev pointed out.

The European Commissioner for Innovation, Mariya Gabriel, said that investments in Bulgarian startups have grown more than 10 times for 2 years, from 16 million to 174 million euros, with 20 of the companies being financed by the EU.
