The Ukrainian families who remained in Bulgaria's Varna do not yet have information about which schools their children will be assigned to.

"There is an avalanche of applications for children's training, mainly for the elementary course, because high-school students prefer to study online in Ukrainian schools. By the beginning of the school year, the distribution will be a fact," said Irena Radeva, head of the Regional Department of Education, for BNR-Varna.  According to her, more than 600 applications have been received so far, but about ten new ones are submitted every day.

In case of a larger number of applications, assistance will be sought from the Minister of Education in order to increase the number of students in certain classes, Irena Radeva also said.

She added that during the school year, Ukrainian children will have additional lessons in Bulgarian and will be able to count on help in individual subjects.
