Parliament is the one to decide if Bulgaria would send military aid to Ukraine

Bulgaria is a sovereign state and implements the decisions of the parliament. This is how caretaker Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov commented the words of his Latvian counterpart Artis Pabriks that Sofia's refusal to send weapons to Ukraine was close to betrayal.

"There is a decision of the 47th National Assembly about the aid that should be provided, so we strictly follow the decisions of the National Assembly. I am not usually criticizing foreign politicians, but I will say that Bulgaria is a sovereign republic and the decisions are made inside the country, not in a Baltic capital or elsewhere," the minister said during a graduation ceremony in the military academy.
